Hosting the first AI Impact Assessment Workshop for the Public Sector in Germany

Updated: Sep 25, 2023

Date: September 20th, 2023

In a groundbreaking collaboration, we joined forces with the TUM Think Tank and the GovTech Campus to host the first-ever AI Impact Assessment for the public sector. This remarkable event marked a significant milestone in the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into government operations and decision-making processes.

Unlocking the Potential of AI for Public Good

Artificial intelligence has been a topic of extensive discussion and exploration across various industries. However, its role in the public sector is still relatively uncharted territory. That is why RTH co-director Yasmin has conceptualised a workshop on AI Impact Assessments with her former colleague Filip Grgic. The AI Impact Assessment Workshop held on September 20th aimed to address this gap by fostering a greater understanding of how AI can be harnessed for the public good while ensuring responsible and ethical deployment.

With a total of over 100 registrations, we were able to include major stakeholders from the public sector in the debate around AI use in public administration. RTH will offer the workshop again with their partners soon!
