In a session chaired by our Co-Director Yasmin and Project Lead Alexander, participants were taken deep into the world of TikTok’s algorithm and its powerful influence on young users. The two presented the findings of our citizen sciences project TikTalks and explored how TikTok’s recommendation system interacts with user behaviour and how it can unintentionally fuel polarization.
